Textbook Discount Nights!

Hey scholars! Need books? Get them at a discount with COSA. See event info below for more details about the two upcoming discount nights! See you all there!

Cal Student Store Discount Night!

The Student Store hasn't given us the discount details, but based on past Student Store discount nights, we presume that the discounts will be as follows:

5% off on used textbooks

20% off on school supplies, clothing, gifts, and general books

Time: Thursday, January 20 · 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Location: Cal Student Store

Ned's Discount Night!

Discount Details:

7% off New Textbooks (excluding Odin readers)

10% off Used Textbooks, supplies and Gifts

20% Clothing (Including Sales items but excluding promotional items)

***Free Candy, Pizza, and Soda will be provided. Last semester the folks at Ned's provided us with delicious Cheeseboard pizza!

Time: Friday, January 21 · 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Annual Faculty Sponsor-Scholar Reception-- Weds., Jan. 26, 2011

The Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships and Honors is honored to sponsor the fifth annual Spring Faculty-Scholar Reception.

When: Wednesday, January 26, 2011-- 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Where: Tilden Room (5th floor), MLK Student Union Building

Please join the Regents’ and Chancellor’s and Cal Opportunity Scholars in a social setting -- enjoy delicious food, entertainment, and the company of distinguished students and outstanding faculty.

Book Trade-off!

Hello School, Hello Books!

Spring semester is literally just around the corner! We hope you're having the time of your life during this last week of break, but if you are already looking into saving money on textbooks and other course materials BEFORE school starts, then please continue reading.

COSA will be collecting requests as well as donations for any textbooks that you want to either sell, buy, rent, or borrow. Yep. Just send us an email. Thank you!

Study Jam Part II + Yay, Care Packages!!!

We can't believe that the semester is almost over! With finals just around the corner, we'd like to help you get prepared (just a bit). Drop by this Thursday to get your FREE care package* filled with snacks, testing supplies, etc etc and love! <-- Cheesy but true. 

And if you've got the time, stay to chill (and/or study) with your fellow COSA peeps. 

*We're sorry to say that there may only be a limited number of packages. We will keep you posted.

Where: SLC--2nd Floor

When: Thurs. December 2nd from 5:00pm-6:00pm

Nov. 16th Events: Movie Night & Family Karaoke Night!

COSA will be holding two fun socials the night of Tues. Nov. 16th:

Movie Night:

Need a little break from schoolwork? A laugh perhaps? Then join us for our movie night next Tuesday the 16th! The movie will be a comedy (more details to come)

Refreshments provided!

Where: 220 Wheeler

When: 7:00pm-9:00pm

Karaoke Night:

Share your beautiful singing voice and join COSA for a night of karaoke fun! If you enjoy belting out classic-rock ballads, contemporary pop tunes, or anything in-between, come out to this event! 

AND...this place is right across from the Durant Food Court, so we can all grab boba drinks to enjoy while we sing! Nothing says fun like KARAOKE + BOBA (:

When: immediately following "Movie Night" (approx. 9:00pm-10:30pm)

COSA STUDY JAM! (Wednesday, November 10 · 7:00pm - 10:00pm) @ the SLC

We have this Thursday off due to Veteran's Day, but if you know you want to get some studying done (whether due to midterms, partying/chilling on your day off, studying for fun...etc!) join COSA for our 1st study jam of this semester! People had great time in previous years, so we are providing a space for everyone to... come study in groups/individually, eat our FREE snacks, chill, study! We'll have DONUTS, cookies, chips, maybe some fruit... typical college food =]

You can drop by anytime, and bring your friends!!!

And if you're looking for past tests, feel free to ask at the jam (or email) and see what we have in our test bank.
