Cal Pal Application deadline EXTENDED to October 16th

GOOD NEWS: the deadline for our CALPALProgram has been extended to 

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16TH, AT 11:59PM!

So if you are still interested, please fill out the online application here!

CALPAL is like a Big Brother/Big Sister Program, where we pair underclassmen (mostly freshmen) with upperclassmen who can provide academic, social, or whatever-you-kind of support you desire. So we need underclassmen AND upperclassmen! We would like to urge you all to take advantage of the resources available to you, and grasp this wonderful opportunity to meet new people, learn more about COSA, give back, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! 

We have many fun activities in store for our CALPAL participants, and you DO NOT wanna miss out!

COSA Course Advising Workshop

As you know, the upcoming Spring Telebears starts on October 17th. Don't know what classes to take? Or do you want to make sure you're on track with your major? Well, COSA is holding a Course Advising Workshop where you get the chance to pair up with fellow COSA upperclassman and alumni who are more than happy to help you figure out your schedule or just give you advice about good classes/professors.

If you are interested, please fill out the attached GoogleDoc and sign up for an appointment.

Each session will last about 20 minutes, so please arrive promptly! Also bring a rough idea of your proposed schedule with you.

Stressed out from the first few weeks of school? Wanna spend your Saturday afternoon with some chill, down people? Or maybe you've got the taste buds for some free food and friendly competition? Well, you DO NOT want to miss...

COSA'S KICKOFF EVENT 

our FIRST SOCIAL of the semester!

What: SUPER SCAVENGER HUNT!

When: Saturday, Sept 17th, 2011, 4:00-6:00 pm

Where: You'll find out... Just kidding, meet at SPROUL STEPS.

Stuff to Bring: Yourselves and any Cosa friends you know. ALSO, please bring a digital camera if you have one (or also a phone with a built in camera).

Why: You will learn a lot about about the beautiful Berkeley campus, and meet and bond with some of your wonderful fellow Cal Opp  Scholars. You will have SO MUCH FUN, and take many many pictures to document said fun :) Oh, and did I mention 

FREE FOOD AND PRIZES?!

Grand Prize: ICI'S GIFT CARDS! (which you can use on one of our future socials *hinthint* :) Ici is an ice cream shop 4 blocks away from Unit 2. It has the BEST ice cream you could ever imagine!

But of course we would not forget about the rest of yall: FREE FOOD! Now who can resist that free food? :)

So come out for a chill afternoon of FUN FUN FUN! WE SO EXCITED to see you all there!

The discount levels will be:

- 10% off used textbooks

EVENT: COSA's End-of-the-Year Dinner (Thurs. May 5: 5:00-7:00 pm)

Take a break from studying for finals and join us for COSA's End-of-the-Year Dinner! Take some time off from studying to chill with fellow scholars + friends while enjoying food, games, and the lovely weather outdoors. You're working so hard. Don't you think you deserve a (delicious) break?

There will be FREE FOOD -- fried rice, egg rolls, cake, and more! We also welcome any home-made goodies from anyone who loves to cook and share.

Also, we will be handing out FREE care packages that include pencils, blue/green books, snacks, drinks, etc.!
