MELLON MAYS UNDERGRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
The MMUF program at UC Berkeley commits to funding fellows for two years as an undergraduate student. Review of applications begin on February 15th, 2013 and are opened until filled.
Qualifications to apply:
[ ] second semester Sophomores (or at least 4 academic year semesters remaining at UC Berkeley)
[ ] have approximately 3.4 GPA or higher.
[ ] (preferred) exceptional academic promise in humanities or social sciences.
[ ] (preferred) potential for academic careers that will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in the academy.

SUMMER UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH PROGRAM (SURP)
- Provide undergraduates with the opportunity to begin work in a research laboratory in the summer.
- Possibility of continuing through the following academic year.
- Unfortunately, no academic credit or stipends will be provided, unless furtherwise stated by faculty or PI in charge of the lab.

(Post graduate) STRONACH BACCALAUREATE PRIZE
The Judith Lee Stronach Baccalaureate Prize supports intellectual and c
reative pursuits that heighten awareness of issues of social
consciousness and the Public good.
- gives bright, ambitious
students the opportunity to extend and reflect upon their undergraduate
work at Berkeley by undertaking a special project after their graduation.
- Prize recipients may be awarded as much as $25,000.
- open to Berkeley graduates in any area of study who are awarded an undergraduate degree in the Fall of the year before or the Spring or Summer of the year in which the Prize is awarded.
- Proposals for humanistic research or public service projects involving the arts, humanities and social or natural sciences are welcome.

The Robert & Colleen Haas Scholars Program funds financial aid eligible,
academically talented UC Berkeley undergraduates to engage in a sustained
research, field-study or creative project in the summer before and during
their senior year at Berkeley.
20 scholars to be selected from all disciplines and departments across the University on the basis of merit and originality of project proposals.
GPA of 3.450 or better and proof of financial need.
International and AB540 students are welcome and encouraged to apply.

PRE-IMSD SUMMER RESEARCH
(5/28/2013 - 8/02/2013)
provides an first-time research experience in the labs of UC Berkeley faculty members for students who want to explore their interest in a research career in the biological sciences.
Overall goal: increase # of students from traditionally underrepresented groups in biomedical and behavioral sciences who go on to pursue & earn Ph.D.s in those fields.
Projects this summer include the fields of molecular biology, developmental biology, behavioral endocrinology, ecology, evolution, and toxicology.
In this program:
* paid research in selected faculty labs
* seminars and workshops on research careers and professional development topics
* students organizing and presenting their research at an end of summer symposium mentoring and advising by IMSD staff, scholars, faculty and graduate fellows.
