Summer Research Opportunities Part I

Leah Caroll, Office of Undergraduate Research will hold the last info session for SURF L&S and SURF Rose Hills this March 4th, 2013 from 4:30 -5:30 P.M.  at Durant Hall, Rm 9 so if you are interested, DO SWING BY!

Another opportunity you may be interested in is the
(Un)certain Boundaries: Visualizing the intersections of science & society,  Spring 2013 Science, Technology, and Society Undergraduate Conference Symposia. 

What this is:


  • Organized by the Center for Science, Technology, Medicine, & Society (CSTMS @ Berkeley)
  • Conference that will give undergraduates the great opportunity to present their research projects to faculty and students
  • Held on Friday, April 26th, 2013
  • Deadline to submit abstracts and apply: Tuesday, March 5th, 2013
  • What are they looking for?
    • projects with high quality
    • projects that illustrate interaction between science and society
    • projects that bring together social, environmental, political, and scientific disciplines
  • Your projects can be presented in either the forms of: (1) Formal - traditional research presentation; (2) Mixed Media - visual installation, performance, mp3, video; (3) Informal - "implosion" projects which provide insight on unexpected connections between society and science.
  • Honor students are encouraged to apply.
